FAQ

Is this is a pyramid scheme?

Absolutely not. Pyramid schemes require you to “pay money to start now,” and promise huge amounts of money for little to no work. There is no money required to start. This is a regular job, just as if you worked for a grocery store or restaurant. You just don’t have to get dressed and drive to work. You can simply roll out of bed, walk across the hall (or not), and log on and work. 😊

Is this an MLM?

Similar to the pyramid scheme question, absolutely not. MLM’s promise you that you will make money, and then one day not have to work as hard because there are others below you, generating revenue for you. This is not the case with this job. You will be the one doing the work, and there are no multiple levels. Just the one where you will be. 😊

Why JSF Call Center?

There are several call centers out there, so this is a very valid question. While there are other call centers that will allow you to work for them, the majority will sign you on, push you to start, and then will not be there to help. Most don’t even give you a direct contact number and promise 24 – 48 hr turnarounds to calls and emails. This is not the case with JSF Call Center. You will have direct contact with the owner, and you will get help as needed, instead of having to wait. It really doesn’t do you any good if you’re having to wait for 24 hrs if you’re supposed to be working now, right???

Will I be making outbound phone calls?

This is not telemarketing, with you calling a list of people, getting hung up on all day long. These are inbound calls, and all of the calls will be for the client you choose to work for, not a hodgepodge of different calls. In some cases you will need to make an outbound call but these outbound calls are to already existing customers that are expecting your phone call. These calls are usually made to follow up on a previous call or case.

What equipment will I need?

Basically, you’ll need a computer (tablets won't work), headset, and decent HARDWIRED internet (better than 10 MbPS download and 3 MbPS upload). In best cases, your computer must have a newer icore processor of i3 or better  but we'll cover those once you're onboarded, as we can sometimes help overcome any deficiencies you may have. 😊

Do I need a land line phone?

In nearly every case, you will not need a landline. The incoming calls you will take will be through your software on your computer.

What is the pay?

The pay is client-specific, in that each client has their own pay rates. In general, you won’t be looking at much less than the mid-$12/hr range. However, there are some clients that pay upwards of $15-$17/hr, and there are some that pay as low as $9/hr. You will know which pays which before you sign up with any specific client.

How do I get paid?

You will get paid via direct deposit.

How soon can I start earning money?

The answer to this question is variable. Depending on the client you sign up with, the length of training, and when you decide to enroll, this can vary greatly. However, if you get signed up with our call center, and you enroll in training the same day, and training starts next week, and the class is 2 weeks long, then it could be as little as a couple of weeks.

What hours can I work?

This is client-specific. There are some clients that are 24/7/365, and there are some that are M-F, 9 AM – 9 PM, and everything in between. You’ll know what the specific hours of a client are when you get registered with the call center.

How do I get started?

Sign up to attend an onboarding session, where we will guide you through the enrollment process, and answer any questions you have that are not included on the FAQ’s. We will also go over the clients available to work with at that time as well and go over other pertinent details.

Are the hours flexible?

This job has infinite flexibility. You can literally work anytime you want and be off whenever you want within the hours of operation of the client you choose. You will be the one that makes your schedule, and YOU will be the one who makes adjustments to your schedule if things come up. Also, you don’t have to work “shifts” like in a regular brick-and-mortar job. You can work something like the following: Hour on, 2 hours off, 2 hours on, 30 minutes off, 1.5 hours on, 5 hours off, 30 minutes on, 3 hours off… and then you can do it completely differently the next day! Seriously INFINTE FLEXIBILITY.

Can I work overnight?

If you choose a client with those available working hours, yes! 😊

Is the job hard?

This is an ambiguous question. Everyone’s definition of hard is different. I personally did not think the job was hard. It can be stressful sometimes, but you will be better off than when I first started off because you chose JSF Call Center, LLC to work with. We do our best to make your job as simple as possible. We are your first line of defense on many things, and do our best to help with anything you need.

I’m not tech savvy. Is that an issue?

Absolutely not, however, having general knowledge of how to browse the internet is a plus. I will say that if you are capable with the computer, then you will have easier times with certain aspects, but if you are struggling with anything, please let us know and we’ll help you out. Don’t be embarrassed or suffer in silence. We are here to help!

I don’t type well. Is that an issue?

Not really, but it depends on what that means. If you type with two fingers, you may need to work on that a little to get halfway decent, but we can help with that. You will need to type every time you work for this opportunity so just by that every day practice alone, you'll inprove with each shift. Just let us know after you’re onboard, and we’ll be happy to help out!

How do taxes work?

In this job, you will be an independent contractor, and will get a 1099 at the end of the year, instead of a W-2 like you may have gotten at other jobs. Now, if you’re unfamiliar with a 1099, that means we do not take out taxes during the year, and you are responsible for paying them at the beginning of the next year when you file your taxes. However, we can tell you that there are several perks to having a 1099 job, including the tax write offs. We can go over the specifics later, and while we’re not CPA’s that are allowed to give official tax advice, we can tell you that anything that you spend on this job (headset cost, desk, etc.) can be written off, as well as part of your utilities, internet, homeowners taxes, etc. Again, this is not official advice, but a friendly explanation of things to expect.

What clients will I be working for?

When you register for the call center, you will sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that prevents you from discussing the client names with anyone outside of the platform. This NDA is the same NDA that prevents us from giving the specific names. However, we can tell you that you probably have heard of most of them, and likely drive by some of them anytime you go to town, or that you’ve called them yourself!

Can I work for more than one client?

Yes, you can. This is a good way to manage your schedule and ensure you can always work the amount of hours you want.

Can I work part-time?

Absolutely! This works well as a secondary job, or a job in college!

Can I work full-time?

Absolutely! However, this is not an employment opportunity so you will not get "benefits" associated with working full time hours, you absolutely can still work full time hours. While you’re not going to make a million dollars doing this job, you can make a decent amount of money from the comfort of your own home simply by having the option to work full time hours!

Do you have benefits?

No, there are no “fringe benefits” with this job, as you will be an independent contractor.

Will there be training?

Yes, there will be training for the client you choose, and these training classes will be held over a length of time.

How long is training?

This depends on the client. The best average would be about 4 weeks, but there are some that are shorter, and some that are longer.

Is training paid?

Most times, the answer is partly. The classes generally are split in two, with the latter half of the class being paid anytime you’re taking calls. The first half of the class is normally dedicated to learning the systems you’ll be using, so you can’t take calls before you know how to use the system. There are some client that do not pay at all during training, but you would know well before you sign up for a client which ones do and which ones don’t.

What are the fees to sign up?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. ABSOLUTELY $0 to "sign up", however, before you can register for a client/class, you will need to take and pass a background check. There is a $30 charge for the background check. Once you pass your background check, your results will be on file for 36 months so you'll only need to PASS and PAY for 1 background check within a 36 month time frame.

How much does it cost to sign up?

I work for another call center. Can I come work for you?

The answer is yes, but the pathway may be difficult. Please let us know if you are working for another one, and we’ll be happy to talk to you individually.

I have kids in the background. Would that be a problem?

You would definitely not want a noisy background. Luckily, with the ability to make your own schedule, hopefully you’d be able to work around your children’s schedule so that this doesn’t affect you. Also, during training, this is less of a problem…

Is there vacation time?

No paid vacation time, but since you make your own schedule, you can go whenever you want! Just give us a heads up, and we’ll make sure if anyone asks, we’ll let them know.

I have another job. Is that a problem?

No, this can be a second or even a 3rd job, and you’ll have flexibility in this job to work around the others. When training, you will need to see if the training classes work with your schedule, but outside of that, there likely will be no issue.

Can I do this job from a cell phone?

No, you will need a computer, hardwired internet, and a noise canceling headset.

I don’t have great internet. Is that a problem?

It depends on what “not great internet” means. If it is satellite internet, that could be problematic, but it really just depends. We can discuss this individually if you’d like. Just drop us a question in the “Contact Us” page, or we can discuss after you join as well. I can tell you that you'll need these specs for compatible internet: better than 10 MbPS download and 3 MbPS upload

I’m in school. Is that a problem?

Absolutely not! This is a GREAT opportunity for school students. Once you’re finish with training, you have complete control of your schedule, and should be able schedule work around all of your classes (and parties 😉) for your entire college career. Make money while on your way to making even more money later in life!

This is my first job. Is that a problem?

Absolutely not! This is a great job, and not extremely difficult to learn. If you need additional help, you just reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to help however we can.

Can I work from a Chromebook?

Unfortunately no, Chromebooks will not work. However, please speak with us, as we have helped many agents with this same situation find a solution to this so they could work!

Can I work from a Mac computer?

Mac Computers are no longer acceptable on this platform.

Is this job fun?

This is ambiguous, but I would say overall yes! All of my agents enjoy their job, and enjoy the atmosphere we strive to provide at this call center. We try our best to make the job as fun as possible, but the real fun part is being able to never have to miss those special moments in life due to work. Never missing a play for your kid. Never missing that date with that one person. Never missing once-in-a-lifetime moment. It really is amazing not worrying about that anymore!

I’m 17 years old. Can I do this job?

Unfortunately, no. You have to be at least 18 years or older to do this job.

I don’t live in the US. Can I do this job?

Unfortunately, no. You have to be a US Citizen, living in the US to do this job. There are other options that you can take if you live in Canada, Jamaica, or the UK. Please let me know if this fits your situation and I'll be happy to help find the best option for you!
